CNC bending machine molds are widely used in the sheet metal processing industry, and are a common tool used by bending machines to process sheet metal materials.

Bending machine molds can be mainly divided into two categories, one is the upper mold (punch mold) and its accessories, and the other is the lower mold (female mold) and its accessories. The upper mold components include upper mold clamps, upper molds, mold handles, die heads, etc. Lower mold components include lower mold, lower mold support, mold base, mold clamp, etc. These can all be combined with each other. These all require mold materials to manufacture.

Bending machine mold is in use, the upper die (punch) squeezes the surface of the plate, and the lower die (concave) restricts the surface of the plate, so as to deform the plate and make it the shape we want. In this process, the sheet is bent and deformed, the material inside the bend fillet is compressed, and the outer material of the sheet is stretched. In the whole process, the mold material and the plate inevitably squeeze and rub against each other, so the mold material will produce irreversible wear after a long time of use. The contact surface between the mold material of the bending machine and the workpiece is usually a new surface; the contact pressure is very high, sometimes exceeding the yield strength of the processed material; the temperature of the contact surface is very high, which can reach 200℃-500℃, up to 800 -1000℃, mold material wear is usually the result of mechanical wear, thermal deformation and chemical forms.

Because of this, the Anhui Yongya CNC bending machine manufacturer feels that when we choose the mold material for the bending machine, we must consider several characteristics: hardness, heat resistance and wear resistance. We generally choose T8-T12 carbon steel for use. Among them, T10 is used more, with moderate toughness and wear resistance. After heat treatment, the hardness can reach up to 60HRC or more, and its production cost is relatively low, but it It has poor hardenability and poor heat resistance (250℃). Many common bending machine molds are used. If you want better mold materials, use 42CrMo high-strength alloy structural steel. 42CrMo belongs to ultra-high-strength steel, with high strength and toughness, good hardenability, and higher fatigue limit and resistance to multiple times after quenching and tempering. Impact ability, can work below 500℃. The hardness after heat treatment is about 45-48HRC. At present, most of the molds of CNC bending machine use 42CrMo material. Even better is the cold work die steel Cr12MoV, which adds an appropriate amount of chromium, molybdenum, vanadium and other alloying elements to the material to improve the hardenability and hardenability of the steel, making the comprehensive mechanical properties of the quenched material far superior to other materials This kind of steel is suitable for various cold-punching dies with large cross-sectional area, complex shape and frequent use. The mold made with it has high precision and long life, but the material usage cost will be much higher.
